Freedom of Information Request

As a public entity, Bamberg Board of Public Works follows the guidelines set forth in the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act S.C. Code 30-4-10 et. Seq. https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t30c004.php

All requests for public records must be made by filling out this form, or in writing and may be submitted in person, by mail, or facsimile.  Please state that you are requesting the records under the SC FOIA.  To assist our staff with request, please be descriptive of the records requested.  Including Contact Information in the event there are questions pertaining to the request will help as well.

Per S.C. Code Section 30-4-30(b), “The public body may establish and collect fees as provided for in this section.  The public body may establish and collect reasonable fees not to exceed the actual cost of the search, retrieval, and redaction of records.  The public body shall develop a fee schedule to be posted online.”

In accordance with the SC Freedom of Information Act, Bamberg Board of Public Works will provide requested public documents without charge when possible.  Costs of search, retrieval, or redaction will be charged in accordance with the statute.  If physical copies are required, the BPW will charge $0.15 per letter size page, plus the actual cost of personnel time expended in copying the documents.  Fees may be waived or reduced where the Board determines it is in the public’s interest.
