Natural Gas
Constructed in the 1960’s, The Natural Gas system is the newest of the utilities Bamberg Board of Public Works provides. With the other utilities virtually limited to the incorporated limits of the City of Bamberg, natural gas has seen continued rapid growth in number of customers and service territory. Bamberg Board of Public Works has over 70 miles of Natural Gas Distribution.
Bamberg Board of Public Works receives Natural Gas from Transmission lines from a ‘Take Station’ in Cordova, SC along Highway 301. From this point, our distribution system run North nearly a mile past Legrand Smoak and as far South as Phoenix Industry. Along the Highway 78 corridor, the BPW system runs West as far as the Bamberg County Industrial Park and East to Midway Community. Our distribution provides efficient natural gas to the town of Cope, Western side of Cordova and City of Bamberg.
